Giving

Offering
Support the ministry and mission of Thornapple through the regular practice of giving generously from the financial resources entrusted to you by God.  
Your financial gifts can be:
  1. Made online through our online giving platform 
  2. Mailed to the church office (6595 Cascade Rd. SE; Grand Rapids, MI 49546)
  3. Given during in-person worship on Sunday mornings

April giving exceeded the monthly budget and we are now ahead of our budget year-to-date.  Very grateful for your faithful giving!! 

Events

  • Fridays at the Fireside | 6:30-9pm, May 17/31 | Spend a Friday evening in the Sandstrom's backyard getting to know others from Thornapple, making smores and sharing stories around the campfire. Learn more and sign up HERE
  • TSM Alumni Pool Party (and Dinner) | Monday, May 20, 7-9pm | Class of 2020-2023, you're invited to an evening of fun and connection-making at the Baum's House: 5027 Meadow Springs Trail SE, Ada.
  • Blood Drive at Cascade Fellowship
    Tuesday, May 28, 11am-5pm

  • Rhythms | 9-week, self-led study, starting June 2 | This is a nine-week journey that involves 10-15 minutes per day with a guided set of daily and weekly rhythms of prayer, Scripture reading, and reflection. Pick up workbooks in the Lobby, Sunday mornings May 19-June 2
  • New-B-Q | Sunday, June 9 following worship in the Community Center. Any individuals or families who have started calling Thornapple their church home is invited to join staff and elders for lunch. Learn more and RSVP HERE.
  • VBS - June 24-27 for fall K-5th graders (6th grade and older are encouraged to volunteer as leaders for VBS - contact Lisa Udell to sign your student up as a volunteer.) Register HERE.
  • Thornapple MomCo | 2024/25 Registration Now Open! MomCo is a community of moms who aim to encourage and equip moms of young children to realize their potential as mothers, women and leaders in relationship with Jesus and in partnership with Thornapple Covenant Church. The group meets the first and third Thursday of every month from 9:30-11:15am, September through May. We also offer monthly Moms Night Out events, monthly Mom & Me play dates and weekly summer park play dates. Register HERE ($100 if you sign up in May and $120 after June 1).
  • Community Center Sports 
    WholyFit (contact Karalyn Tresh: 616-304-0592): Fridays, 9:30-10:30am

Sunday Programming 
Nursery and Kingdom Kids | 10-11am | 4s-6th grade start in worship with families until they are dismissed around 10:20, parents can pick up children in the Lower Level following worship. The third Sundays of the month, 4-years-old-6th grade will return to worship for communion. Nursery only May 26; summer programming starts June 2. Details in the Parent Email.
Middle School (7th-8th) | Resumes in the fall.
HS Huddle | 6:30-8:30pm

Pine Rest Church Assistance Program  
Complimentary counseling (and other programs – just say “I have a CAP with Thornapple Covenant Church” when you call to make an appointment) for you and your family and access to a virtual library of mental health resources (use the password “Thornapple” when prompted). Learn more HERE.

Stephen Ministry
Going through a crisis or having a difficult time? Maybe you could benefit from receiving care in a one-on-one partnership with a trained Stephen Minister. Contact Lynne McLaughlin

Making a Difference

  • Hearts for Sewing | The sewing group still needs donations of 100% cotton flannel fabric, or monetary donations for us to purchase these supplies. All donations can be brought to the church office or you can contact Diane Kunkler for more information. Thanks to all who have donated.

  • Help with Childcare for MOPS | Typically the first and third Thursdays of each month, 9-11:30am. If you’d like to help for just 1 or 2 dates, sign up here! 

  • Tech Booth Team | Sunday morning tech booth volunteers needed for on-screen slides, monitoring livestream sound and more (we'd love to add to our sound board volunteers but this requires more extensive training which we can provided to anyone interested in learning) - adults and teens welcome; training provided. Email Kimberly Korpak.

  • Love hanging out with babies/toddlers? Children’s Ministry could use your help as a Nursery volunteer on Sunday mornings. Please contact Lisa Udell if you are able to help and she we get you on the schedule!
