Joy in the Mourning
Part One: Five Reasons for Joy

Text: Philippians 1

What leads to joy?

  1. A servant mindset vs. an entitled mindset.
  2. Thankfulness for what you have vs. complaining about what you don’t have.
  3. Sharing your life vs. going it alone.
  4. Trust that God can make good out of pain vs. fearing the worst.
  5. An awareness of God’s grace in suffering vs. thinking you are on your own.

Take Notes Below and Email Them To Yourself

Your generosity helps continue the mission and ministry of Thornapple and even expand it. Even a small gift helps when added with others.

    Your financial gifts can be:

    1. Placed in the boxes in the back of the Sanctuary by each door
    2. Mailed to the church office (6595
Cascade Rd. SE; Grand Rapids, MI 49546)
    3. Made online

Whoever brings blessing will be enriched,
and one who waters will himself be watered.
    Prov. 11.25

Leadership Nominations |  Each year Thornapple’s nominating committee prayerfully oversees the selection of new leaders for the coming year. The list is then presented for affirmation at the Annual Meeting in February. The Nominating Committee is now accepting nominations for leadership positions (elders, nominating committee, treasurer and audit committee) through Nov. 1.  Nominations can be submitted using the form below, by emailing Marny Danz, or you can give your recommendations directly to one of the Nominating Committee members: Marny Danz (chair), Dave Hayhurst, Carl Mulder, Amy DeJong, Beth Vanover or Jim Knight.

To nominate more than one person, please fill out the form multiple times.
