Children & Family Ministry
Partnering with parents to help children find and follow Jesus Christ.
Thornapple's Children's Ministries exist in partnership with parents to encourage children to know, love and follow Jesus, confessing him as Lord of their life. We believe that the parent has the greatest influence in a child’s life and that children are best served when mom and dad are intentional about building their faith. We believe it is our role to come alongside parents with supplemental tools and opportunities to help equip parents and reinforce what is being taught at home.
Fall Kick off is Sunday, September 12. Sunday Morning Ministries September through May include Nursery, Children's Worship, Promiseland, and Special Needs care. Nursery & Special Needs care is available at both the 9:00 & 10:30 services. Children's Worship is available for children aged 4 through 3rd grade during the 9:00 worship hour. Promiseland is for children 3 years through 6th grade at the 10:30 service. More information is available on each ministry page. Summer Sunday Mornings, June through August: This program is for 4 year olds through fall 1st graders and takes place during both morning services. Younger children are in nurseries and older children should plan to worship with their families.
Wednesday evening family ministry includes programming for children through adults. Wednesday evening programming has ended for the spring and will begin again in the fall. Fall Family Retreat: The 2010 Fall Family Retreat will be November 12-14. Each fall we spend a weekend up at Portage Lake Bible Camp learning and growing together as families and as a church family. To view pictures from the fall family retreat 2009, click here.
