Worship

We, at Thornapple, pray "that we may exploit the inner yearning that millions possess to be intimately connected with their Father in heaven through genuine, authentic, consistent, purposeful, loving, and pleasing expressions of worship."
(George Barna, Experience God in Worship, Group Publishing, 2000)

Sunday Worship Hours:

  • 9:00am contemporary worship gathering is our contemporary hour using a full band with a variety of instruments.
  • 10:30am blended worship gathering is our blended hour merging organ, choir (September through May), band and piano.

Summer Sunday Worship Hours (June-Sept. 3):

  • 10:00am worship gathering

In all worship services we create the time and space for us to respond to God with all that we are, both individually and corporately. We strive to tell God's story through new and classic songs; visual and creative arts; new and ancient prayers; strong Biblical and practical teaching; and times of meditation and reflection. We seek to create a worship environment that reaches into the spiritual depth of the past while embracing the new expressions of the present. We believe that both options will grow and stretch our worship and further enable us to respond to God, not only on Sunday, but throughout the rest of our week.

Nursery is provided during both services all year. During the school year, September through May, classes for children and students are offered during both services. Note: The schedule can change around holidays.

For the Sunday preaching and scripture schedule refer to the Sunday page of the website and the Sunday Preaching Schedule page.

During holidays our schedule may change. Please consult the Sunday bulletin, the website or call the church office if you have questions.
