Thornapple Young Adults ministry is our ministry to 20 somethings, college students and grads, and post high school adults. Our goal is to provide a church home where you can worship, serve, be challenged to grow in your faith, and find community - with others in your same stage of life as well as people from all generations. If you are interested in learning more, contact Marny Danz.
Young adults meet most Monday nights offsite for small group time (conversations around faith) as well as other days for fun activities. In February and March, the young adult group will be doing the Community Bible Experience - a unique way to read through the New Testament. Bibles specifically designed for this 8-week journey will be available for $5 in the church lobby on Sundays or you can download it for kindle through Amazon by clicking here or Ebook for free here. Begin reading on your own on January 30 and join the group for discussion for eight Mondays, February 6 to March 27 at 7:30pm at 7619 Candlewood Dr. SE in Ada. For the reading plan, click here (which coordinates with the book). Contact Caroline Fild if you have questions.
College Students: Many college students make Thornapple their home church while attending colleges in the Grand Rapids area. We periodically offer brunches on Sundays for college students, goody bags during exam weeks, and opportunities to serve. There will also be a college student brunch after the first service on Sunday, April 30 in the lounge. No RSVP needed.
Calvin Sunday Transportation - Thornapple picks up students at Calvin on Sundays for the first service. That means that a church van will be at Calvin (at the end of Knights drive by the dorms) on Sundays at about 8:35-8:40 to bring students to the 9:00 service and then it brings the students back after the service. The van does not come during school vacations or during the summer. The van will not be picking up students March 19 or 26 (spring break) or April 16 (Easter). The final day for transportation will be May 7.
