In the first month of 2025, God has blessed the ministries of Thornapple through your generosity! Our budget is based on adding 2.9% to last year’s giving for each month, and your giving in January far exceeded that! Thank you for a great start to the new year and your continued giving to the work of Thornapple!
- Made online through our online giving platform
- Mailed to the church office (6595 Cascade Rd. SE; Grand Rapids, MI 49546)
- Given during in-person worship on Sunday mornings

- Annual Meeting | TODAY following worship in the Sanctuary. Childcare will be available for birth-5th grade. Learn more and get the Pre-Read Packet HERE.
- NextGen Fundraiser | Monday, Feb. 24, 5-10pm at Vitale's of Ada | A portion of all DINE IN food will be donated to Thornapple's NextGen Ministries to help offset costs for trips and activities. Everyone is invited to join us to give back and enjoy a night off from cooking!
- College/Recent Grad Lunch | Sunday, March 2 following worship | We're hosting a lasagna lunch for college students and recent grads in a couple weeks. Food donations and volunteers are needed to help make this happen. Learn more and sign up HERE.
- Lent 2025 | March 5-April 20
- Ash Wednesday worship | March 5 at 7pm
- Stations of the Cross in The Commons for the duration of Lent | Self-guiding time of reflection; open to the public during office hours (M-F, 9am-3pm), Tuesdays 6-8pm and Saturdays 9-11am
- Maundy Thursday Potluck | April 17 at 6pm | Learn more and sign up HERE
- Good Friday Worship | April 18 at 7pm in the Sanctuary

Nursery (birth to 3-years-old) and Kingdom Kids (4-years-old to 6th grade) | 10-11am | Everyone checks in the middle Lobby by Door B; nursery age children can be brought downstairs before worship; 4s-6th grade start in worship with families until they are dismissed around 10:20. Parents can pick up children in the Lower Level following worship. The third Sundays of the month, 5th-6th grade will worship in the Sanctuary with their families and join us for Communion.
Middle School (7th-8th) | Start in worship with families until they are dismissed around 10:20. The third Sundays of the month, students will worship in the Sanctuary with their families and join us for Communion.
HS Huddle | Sunday evenings, 6:30-8:30pm.
Pine Rest Church Assistance Program
Complimentary counseling (and other programs – just say “I have a CAP with Thornapple Covenant Church” when you call to make an appointment) for you and your family and access to a virtual library of mental health resources (use the password “Thornapple” when prompted). Learn more HERE.

Making a Difference
- Hearts for Sewing | The group meets Noon-3pm the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month. The sewing group still needs donations of 100% cotton flannel fabric, or monetary donations for us to purchase these supplies. All donations can be brought to the church office or you can contact Diane Kunkler for more information. Thanks to all who have donated.
- Foster the Family Info and Volunteer Opportunities | Foster the Family is renting space from Thornapple in our storage space under the Community Center and has volunteer opportunities (noted below) for both individuals and groups.
- Deliver clothing, supplies, and a meal to a family welcoming a child
- Make a meal for a family in need
- Write a note of encouragement to a caregiver
- Help at or host an event for our families
- Help caregivers take a night off by providing/hosting respite care
